Details On the 2009 Return to Freedom |
|
|
 |
 |

The 2009 Return to Freedom will be
the first in some time and we know many of you are
eager for more information about exactly what we'll
all be doing. Here's what we have planned so far:
WHEN: Saturday,
July 25th and Sunday, July 26th, 2009
The earliest (and most difficult)
rides will begin at 7AM on Saturday and Sunday.
FOOD: A
continental breakfast and light lunch will be served
daily.
ACCOMODATIONS: There
is a Comfort Inn just down the street from our headquarters.
visit their website and book a room. There are several
other lodging options in the general area as well.
We have minimal room within the unoccupied offices of
our factory for a few folks who would like to bring an
air mattress and a sleeping bag. Do let us know if you
intend to stay in our factory when you RSVP.
WHAT: If you've yet
to see our new facility or you've never visited Easy
Racers, this is your chance to take a peek behind the
curtain. We'll be opening our doors and letting you
see where your bike came from. Tour our factory and
get to know some of our staff.
There will be live music in the evening and we'll all
have plenty of time to converse and get to know each
other. We have riders planning to visit us from around
the country this year so there will be no shortage of
interesting people to meet!
We're planning rides on four separate courses, each of
a different difficulty level. Each ride will leave from
our factory and will have numerous start times, the
intent being that we can have everyone ride with everyone
else and, over the course of two days, experience all
four courses.
-There will be the obligatory, leisurely
ride to Gizdich
Ranch for apple pie (this is a staple
of Return to Freedom).
-Another ride will venture into the beautiful and scenic
Corralitos Valley.
-One course will take us to the beach
in Capitola.
-Finally, there will be an epic ride to
Carmel which will take us along the amazing "17 Mile
Drive."
There will be several bicycles available for you to test
ride in our "stable." Also, if traveling with your bike
is a burden, get in touch with us and we'll let you know
what we can offer you in terms of a free "rental."
COST: $20 per day,
per person is all we're asking for to help us cover
some of the expenses of the weekend.

Why
An Easy Racer?
|
|
|
 |
 |
An
Easy Racers bicycle allows you to ride in a
natural sitting position. No twisting of the
spine, strain on your neck, or undue pressure
on your wrists or crotch. Our bicycles allow
you to ride in style and comfort while attaining
remarkable speed. Easy Racers, Inc. is the
acknowledged industry leader in the manufacturing
recumbent bicycles. Gardner
Martin, our founder, first sought to design
comfortable, practical road bikes. And in the
beginning there was the Gold
Rush, the first streamlined bicycle to
break 65mph!
After
almost 30 years of doing
business, the company has quite a fan base.

 |
Easy Racers' recumbents have been
successfully race proven since 1978, setting 19 world
records in all kinds of different events from top
speed to twisty road races. These American Made long
wheelbase bicycles have been the choice of countless
recumbent riders for decades. Nine frame sizes accommodate
riders from 4'10” to 6’7”, making
each bike a custom fit. All of our bikes are available
in either Speed and Sport or Expedition variations.
A Speed and Sport model has narrower tires, a 20" (451mm)
front wheel and normal road bike gearing. An Expedition
model comes with fatter tires, a 20” (406mm)
front wheel and mountain bike gearing.
Our handlebars
are cleverly designed to serve as fairing supports.
An Easy Racers fairing (by Zzip
Designs) is simple to install and less expensive
than those made by other manufacturers. Adding a
fairing really makes one of these bikes fly. Order
a body sock and it’s a rocket ship!
