Care For Your Carbon Fiber Fairing

Your new carbon fiber fairing should last for years with the proper care and protection from UV damage. I recommend a product called "303 Protectant". It can be found in many auto parts stores. Or look it up online as it is easy to order. Using 303 Protectant keeps the fairing looking nice and new and protects against all kinds of UV rays which can damage and or discolor the fairing over time. Use it regularly.

If your bike came with Velcro for a body sock look it over and if there are places where the Velcro has come up push it back down. Warming the Velcro might make it stick better also. The Velcro seems to last a season or two before you have to change it. To change Velcro out just remove the old tape and all glue residue with Goo Gone or some other solvent, but not acetone. For best adhesion use coarse sandpaper and scuff up the edge and clean off dust with rubbing alcohol. Warm Velcro up to at least room temperature and it should stick well.

Once you put you body sock on and it is firmly attached to the Velcro on the fairing, try not to undo it unless it's necessary. When you are not using the bike, undo the sock off the back of the body sock scaffold and let it hang loose. Try not to store the bike or let it sit in the direct sun. Don't worry about riding in the sun, just don't let your bike sit in it for hours.

If you have a DB FAIRING, use special care when cleaning the windscreen. I use the same material I use to clean my sunglasses, a real soft cloth.

If you scratch the fairing try buffing it out and try coloring scratch with a black felt pen and wiping off the excess. Minor scratches and even cracks are not a problem unless the crack is on a mounting hole.
