Cobra Seat

i recently purchased a used GRR with a Cobra seat. I am having problems when I ride with continually slipping to one side and it is not butt slide. This is my first experience with a Cobra seat. My previous GRR had Koolback seat and I experienced no problem.
I'm considering switching seats
Is there a difference in the configuration or padding in the seat bottom in the seats?
Suggestions please

Cobra slide ?

You might want to examine the seat base plate. Are the rivets tight? Maybe the seat is shifting to one side because of loose rivets or cracked seat base plate?

Check the seat strut tension - maybe one side is not holding?

The thing about purchasing used items - one never knows what it has gone through from the previous owner/owners.

The foam wears out over time. I replaced my foam myself. "I do not recomend it " From now on - Easy Racers will have that task. Waaay too much hassle for no more than the cost savings.

If your needing new foam - chances are you need new rivets also in the seat base plate. My seat base plate was cracked and needed replaceing. I replaced it when I replaced the foam. Once again - way too much hassle to deal with.

Easy Racers checks this all out and more so you will have a like new Cobra seat when it comes back to you. I do not recall what they charge as it has been three years ago. I do recall "next time" I will send it to them for a rebuild and not be so chincy.

Pending what your expectations were when you rode the Cobra seat -the Cobra has a different feel compared to the Cool Back. I prefer it and others don't - each to their own

I agree with Dinkster's suggestion...ask the EasyRacer team to fix it. You won't be able to really enjoy your bike till its fixed, but when it is ... !

Rider Lean

A few years ago I noticed a couple of friends starting to lean to one side as they got later into a metric. Once the issue was brought up - one converted to a cool back because the seat back is wider for support.

Both still lean to the left when they get tired - but at least there is back support with the Cool Back. The other rider likes his Cobra to much to give it up - "yet".

Didn't know if this might be your situation or not. Just thought I would mention it for thought.

Neither one of them knew of the situation until it was mentioned to them.

What are friends for

I agree, I must have it fixed to enjoy it. I have a problem back to start with and this riding off center distresses it a bit more. Since I had a Kool back seat on my past GRR and had no problem, I think I'll make the move and just order a new Kool back. .
Thanks for the reponses It certainly helped me. By the way Dinkster, I purchased the GRR from Portland last year
