TE Seat - Rivets Breaking

I just returned from a tour on the Great Allegheny Passage and C&O Canal Tow path (Pittsburgh to Wash, DC) with only 4 remaining rivets holding my TE seat to the frame. I noticed a clicking sound that turned out to be rivets getting lose and then breaking off. Halfway through the trip I checked my seat and realized I had lost 4 of the ten rivets. By the end of the trip I had lost 6 rivets. Has any one else had this problem? I'm pretty sure my TE was made overseas.

I talked to several bike shops along the trail, but no one had a rivet gun. And no one said they had ever heard of this problem. So I gambled that I could finish the trip.
